Welcome
Welcome to my blog which was started just today (5/17/05). Wow.
Regarding the title, it comes from an apocryphal story of how the New York Knicks came to get the #1 draft pick in 1985, i.e. the right to draft Georgetown's Patrick Ewing. There was much innuendo that the first draft lottery was being fixed so that the Big Fella (as he would come to be known) would land in the large New York media market as opposed to smaller NBA towns with less media importance. The story goes that the NBA "froze the envelope" with NY's logo so that David Stern would know by temperature which one to choose.
